Who writes them
I'm Matt, and I write every guide on ADHDose myself. I take ADHD medication (Elvanse, 70mg), and I built ADHDose because I wanted to understand my own.
I'm not a doctor, pharmacist or nurse. The guides are there to help you understand your medication and go into appointments better prepared, and your prescriber is still the person to make decisions with.
Where the facts come from
Every dose, duration and figure on a medication page comes from a published source, and each page lists its sources at the bottom. The ones I use most are
- the manufacturer's Summary of Product Characteristics (SmPC) on the electronic medicines compendium, and the BNF, for UK medicines
- the FDA label on DailyMed for US medicines
- NHS England and NHS Business Services Authority data for waiting lists and dispensing
- each provider's own published figures for Right to Choose wait times, with the date I checked them
- peer-reviewed research, linked from the line it supports
When people's experience differs from what the label says, the page says so and still gives the label's figure.
How often pages are checked
Medication pages are checked against the SmPC and FDA label every six months, and whenever a label changes. Waiting times and supply figures go out of date fastest, so those pages show the date the figures were checked, and I re-check them monthly.
Every page shows when it was last updated.
Clinical review
The guides haven't been reviewed by a clinician yet. Each page says so at the bottom, beside its sources.
Spotted a mistake?
Email support@adhdose.com. I read every message, and if something's wrong or out of date I'll fix the page and update its date.
Who pays for this
ADHDose makes its money from the app, which has a free version and a paid Pro subscription. The guides are free to read and you don't need the app to use them. Where a page talks about ADHDose, it's in its own section so you can tell it apart from the guide.
No page carries paid placements, sponsorship or affiliate links, and no drug company or provider has paid for anything on the site.
Information, not medical advice
Everything on ADHDose is general information, and nothing here tells you what to take or how to change your dose. If you're worried about your medication, a dose you've missed or taken twice, or a side effect, speak to your prescriber or a pharmacist, or call NHS 111.
